Project Description

From the beverage can which now stands next to your keyboard, to your home’s window frame, without forgetting the super-light bike you just acquired. Its properties are such that it can be used in endless applications … also in architecture and design. Not only non-combustible, but also durable and attractive. Architects have brought aluminium from inside buildings to the outside to create masterpieces of modern architecture. As architects, contractors, consultants and real estate owners look to meet stringent safety requirements in the construction industry, solid aluminium provides a cladding solution that is 100% non-combustible and has an A1 European classification.

Did you say anodised?

The process of anodisation consists in the controlled production of an oxide layer on the surface and makes aluminium cladding resistant to UV, corrosion and scratching, while keeping its natural metallic look. Anodising may be done in its natural shade or combined with colouring. This makes plain aluminium an ideal material for use in façades, roofs, interior ceilings, balconies, pillars, sun ventilation screens and escalator casings.

Unlimited creative potential

Aluminium’s flexibility and formability supports virtually unlimited design potential. While it can be readily shaped and is easy to bend, aluminium also maintains strong mechanical values making it an ideal material for perforating, punching and expanding. With aluminium, your challenging designs can come true. We have some striking examples of its versatility on our web-page.

Lighter, stronger, longer

Aluminium is both lightweight and strong. The material’s light weight makes it easier to transport and handle on-site. Its optimum high strength-to-weight ratio allows architects to design light structures while keeping the required stability. Anodised aluminium cladding has a long useful life and doesn’t require extensive maintenance. Since it can be 100% recycled afterwards without losing any of its quality, it is truly a sustainable and “green” building material.

Colour uniformity as a bonus: our 55HX® major asset

When working on a building project, architects & designers are obviously interested in safe and resistant material, but also in material presenting certain aesthetic qualities. Colour is one of those qualities: not only should it meet the original design’s requirements, ideally it should be homogenous throughout the whole surface. From the design to the actual realisation, with our natural anodised aluminium 55HX®, architects can be reassured that the result will look exactly the way they imagined and remain the same for many years to come.
