Sanaa is an Expert Process Technology Engineer who work on our continuous annealing line (CALP line).

Training

She studied Chemistry at the ULB university and Materials Sciences at the VUB university.

The job

Sanaa: "We have a meeting with the whole department in the morning when we discuss what happened the day before and decide which actions need to be taken. I go down the line regularly and check that everything is functioning properly. Is the temperature within the allowed range? How do the parameters look? Are the machines clean? You always come across issues that need to be resolved and finding solutions is something I enjoy doing."

Why I chose Aluminium Duffel

Sanaa: "My previous job was more focused on technology. Now I can concentrate on the actual manufacturing. I wanted to be more in touch with the products we create."

Culture

Sanaa: "I strongly believe that if you open up to your colleagues, you can work well with everyone. Our organisation is strongly committed to the cultural transformation. Since I learned about this, I worry a lot less and I can handle certain situations in a more relaxed way. This helps me a lot in both my personal life as well as at work."

Value – Change & Courage

Sanaa: "I recently obtained my Green Belt at the company. To achieve this I used tools to continuously improve our work. I was able to control some of the installation processes more efficiently. In a first project, I focussed on eliminating standstills on the line. A second project dealt with a quality issue. This was during the Covid outbreak, and my job was extra challenging because I have a young family."

Free time

Sanaa: "I spend my free time with my family. We live in Schaarbeek, and I really enjoy the neighbourhood and the different cultures the city has to offer."
