Aluminium Duffel is not your average factory. As a team member in the casthouse, your work is varied and comes with a great deal of responsibility.

Younes - Planner Casthouse

Who

Younes (30) started as an operator in our casthouse. Recently, he became the substitute planner for the casting installations.

Training

Younes studied Economics and Modern Languages in high school.

Why I Chose Aluminium Duffel

Younes: "I worked for a while as a bricklayer in the construction sector, but I decided to go back to studying. Through people around me, I learned that Aluminium Duffel has a good reputation. The continuous shift system and the vacation days make it possible to combine work and study. I'm also satisfied with the salary and the extra benefits, such as the hospitalization insurance."

The Job

Younes: "Two years ago, I started as an operator in the casthouse department. Within the casting process, I was first trained as a caster, then I learned the tasks of a melter and casthouse loader. After that, I worked on the various casting installations in the factory. Eventually, I became a highly versatile operator. I also had the opportunity to follow the training for backup planner. As a result, I combined operator duties with planning tasks for a while. Soon, I will start as a substitute planner, and planning will become a larger part of my responsibilities."

Culture

Younes: "Aluminium Duffel is not an average factory. As an operator in the casthouse, your work is very diverse because you're involved in various aspects of the casting process. You carry a lot of responsibility and partly organise your own tasks. On top of that, working with molten metal is a challenge in itself. What I personally appreciate about Aluminium Duffel is that when you show initiative and motivation, opportunities come your way."

Value - Excellence & Teamwork

Younes: "I’m part of a great team that gets along well. What we have in common is that we’re performance-driven. I always try to do my job well, which gives me a sense of satisfaction when I head home after a day’s work."

Free Time

Younes: "At the moment, most of my free time is spent studying. But when I do have some extra time, I enjoy going on vacation or playing sports."
